Subhaan Chaudhry

Founder & Lead Practitioner

Trained at the intersection of two worlds: the wards and lecture theatres of modern medicine, and the classical literature of the great healing traditions. A certified cupping practitioner accredited by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine, with an enduring research interest in natural healing traditions and the classical medical texts — read not as relics, but as a living clinical inheritance.

The conviction behind Panacea is simple and quietly radical: that true care begins before the onset of pathology. By attending to the body's internal balance — circulation, rest, digestion, and the terrain in which illness takes root — we practise medicine at its most preventative, combining modern assessment with classical therapies so that each strengthens the other.

Notes on the art of healing

The vision

Why Panacea?

The word panacea has meant one thing in every language it has passed through: a universal remedy — the hope, held by physicians of every age, of care that answers the whole person rather than a single complaint.

We chose the name as an aspiration, not a claim. No therapy cures everything, and we will always tell you plainly when cupping is not what you need. But the ideal behind the word — medicine practised as an art, attending to the whole body and the terrain in which health is kept or lost — is one modern medicine is remembering. Prevention, lifestyle, circulation, rest: the oldest instincts of the healing traditions are becoming the newest frontiers of clinical care.

Panacea exists in that meeting place — where classical therapies are practised with modern standards, and where healing is given the time, courtesy and attention of an art.

Tradition

A practice with a lineage

Panacea stands in the Greco-Islamic medical tradition: the knowledge of the Greek physicians, translated and refined in the great centres of the Islamic world, and carried into the present as Unani Tibb — with hijama held at the heart of Tibb Nabawi, the medicine of the Prophet ﷺ.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Yes — we always recommend consulting your GP before beginning any therapy, especially if you have a medical condition, take regular medication (in particular blood thinners), are pregnant, or are under ongoing care. Our therapies complement your medical care and never replace it.

Most people describe a firm, warm pulling — unusual rather than painful. Hijama incisions are feather-light and superficial; discomfort is brief and mild, and we adjust pressure to you throughout.

Always. Every cup, blade and glove is sterile and single-use, opened in front of you and disposed of clinically after your session.

Come lightly fed (avoid a heavy meal for 2–3 hours), well hydrated, and allow a quiet evening afterwards. Full preparation notes are sent with every booking.

Yes — the 17th, 19th and 21st of each lunar month are held in our diary first. Just mention it when booking and we'll find you a time.
